If you receive an email advising that your Cyber Essentials questionnaire has been rejected this means that the Assessor has deemed your answers as non-compliant.

Common reasons for rejection often include non-compliance with specific control requirements or submission of insufficient or unclear evidence for mandatory controls.

Next Steps After Application Submission

Once you have submitted your Cyber Essentials application, there are additional steps to finalize the certification process:

  1. Monitor for the Declaration Email

    • A designated person in your organization will receive an email requesting the signing of a declaration.

  2. Sign the Declaration Quickly

    • Ensure this is done in a timely manner as certification cannot proceed without it.

  3. Certificate Issuance

    • The certificate will be issued once the declaration is signed and verified.

To avoid any delay in receiving your certification please review the Assessor comments and amend your answers and resubmit within 5 working days.

Follow a structured process: identify specific controls needing amendments by reviewing assessor comments, correct errors or omissions in your responses or evidence, and resubmit the application for further review.

Summary

By promptly addressing assessor feedback, amending your submission where necessary, and completing all post-submission requirements, you can achieve your Cyber Essentials certification smoothly.
